On a 1960 348 engine when replacing the Generator with an Alternator
what new brackets are needed?:dunno
Notice on the web site "dr409 Chevy Show Cars" they show an
Alternator Bottom Bracket, Alternator Middle Bracket and Alternator Top
Adjustment Bracked. Which of these brackets are needed?:dunno

All 3 are required. The alternator is totally different from the generator and therefore....different brackets are needed. It's a direct bolt-on to your engine.

Another option is the Power Master Alternator. Looks just like the stock generator as it uses a look-a-like case so you use the same brackets. At least it's the same as my 409 brackets.

It is costly but I for one like the generator look in the engine bay. Most people don't know it's not the stock generator plus it's 75 amps.

I know it's not a dealer approved option, but I took a bracket for a smallblock, split and stretched it to fit the bolt holes on the front of a 409 head. I used a Mr. Gasket chromed universal bracket for the top adjustor. I didn't have any trouble making the belt line up with the pulleys.
