Last winter I raised the mounting point up 2" where the upper arm connects to the rear end. Hoping to better the 60' And possibly get that pic with air under both tires:) ( still no pic). Ill start with last falls 60's.
sept 06. 5 passes all between 1.727-1.701. rpm at launches varying between 3800-4400.
oct 06. 4 passes all between 1.764-1.715. rpm at launches 3800-4400.

Since I have been to the track twice. First time it was in the dead of summer about 90 deg at dusk.
july 07. 2 passes 1.769-1.766. Felt more agressive but times slowed. (it was hot)

Just went again this weekend. Been waiting for months for the same type weather as last year this time to get a comparrison.
oct 07. 3 passes 1.679-1.674. All launches @4000 rpm
car was running awsome untill a win in the second round. I think I pushed a head gasket. Wont know for sure till I tear it down. The air was really good. Alot of car were picking up time. So not sure if it was a great comparisson but not bad. Overall they were the best 60's ever and the car felt GOOOD at launch.:brow

Brian - Thanks for the info your 60' before and after raising the rear control arm mtg point. That is on my list of things to do this winter. It looks like VAMP is going to change the 14.20 class to 13.90-13.80. So any edge in 60' will help me be competitive.

You car is comming right along!!! I had several people come up and tell me about how cool your car was.:clap

Thanks for the links!!

Hi bubbletop1961

Thank you for sharing your results from the upper control arm modification. Your new 60' times are very impressive. The shot with air under the front tires shows how well your 61 is hooking up. :beerbang What was your best ET and MPH?
With your modification, did you use straight or curved upper control arms?

Great to see your Bubbletop and TomO's 63 at the strip. :cheers

Thanks guys.
the best full pass with this motor was las fall.
60' 1.725
1/8 7.815 @87.82
1/4 12.31 @108.84

All 3 passes looked better this year but I was running a 12.30 index class and was lifting before the finish line.:doh
60' 1.679 1.674 1.675
1/8 7.765@86.85 7.737@86.99 7.731@87.62
1/4 12.429@95.97 12.457@100.40 12.434@94.37

So probably in the 12.20's I did notice the mph in the 1/8 was down, probably because of the better traction, and lower 60' times.

All the suspension is direct bolt in replacements. I still use the single upper. It is a double heim adjustable bar to set pinion angle(-2). The panhard is now a double adjustable alluminum bar with heims. The lowers ar just stock boxed arms with pst bushings. The springs are 6 cyl. with air bags. 10psi in the right one, no air in the driver one.
