Valve Cover clearance

I can use some advice on this. I have a new set of Showcars 409 Valve covers with drippers. My engine has Edelbrock Aluminum heads along with the rocker arms and locknuts. I did have a a set of 348 covers without drippers and they cleared just fine. My new covers do not clear. This is no surprise given the size of the rocker arm assembly. My thought is to order set of 1/2 inch valve cover spacers. Before I do this I would like to get some of your opinions. Here are a few photos

What other choice would you have to retain covers and rockers???

Would the 3/8 thick valve cover gaskets give you enough clearance?

Could the drippers be trimmed back in the areas they hit rockers???? Depending how much clearance you need you could guage that .

No,you don't run drippers when using roller rockers.Not needed or even wanted.IF you ''MUST have the ''dripper'' style valve covers for outward appearence,turn the covers over and remove. the blasted things.

Often you can just bend them to obtain clearance

I have a set of BBC covers with drippers the previous owner bent out of the way. Could always cut them off with a cutoff wheel. I'd just buy a new set without the drippers if a set of spacers does not work.

okay, thanks for all the advice. I think I will bend the dripper tabs over and see how that works.
