Blocking the exhaust cross over on the intake can be a big help, as well.

Tenxal's advice is spot on.Its funny how when you get in the habit of doing something you don't even consider it anymore.

Use the Fel Pro #1205 intake gaskets, which are totally solid in the area of the heat cross over.

Man those 70s mopars would pack that crossover with carbon and was a pain to clean out. Those old ladies couldn't drive them car when it was cold out.

Yes we had a 318 in for a tune up and we told her about choke issues.She ignored it untill one day while driving the choke pull off died.The choke thought the engine was cold because the cross over was solid carbon.The throttle was at part throttle,the choke slamned shut,and the 318 flooded itsself to death.
