i have a real nice set of .030 over venolia pistons hanging on big block rods i took out of a 409 stock stroke block i bought last fall. i sure would like to use these again. the question i have is, the oil rings are std. 3/16's, the 2nd ring is 1/16, but the top ring is an L shaped ring, it sits in a 1/16 ring groove but the piston is under cut above this groove to clear the L Part of the ring.is this a dykes style ring and if so,can i use them in a street/strip engine? or would it be possible to just use a std. 1/16 ring in this groove? need help! thanks

NICE PISTONS, Gearhead :deal .... if you don't have mine, they're the next best thing ;) HEE HEE !

I like the Dykes ring... little better seal under load. Shouldn't be a problem getting the rings... same as Buick 455.

I run those same style rings on Aubreys pistons. :brow
It`s a great setup that even my machinist here likes.

They will be fine on the street and strip......
