Anyone out there with first hand experience installing the Vintage Air under the dash of a 1962 Impala????doing an installation for my friend...time to install the evaporator under the dash but cannot get it wedged into place...anyway i try ITS TOO BIG! (Pixs attached)....perhaps because i have the short extensions for heat and A/C pre-attached to the backside...but what kind of a contortionists could get behind there to install them, and properly torque the connections AFTER the evaporator is installed under the dash??? PS i have new carpet and firewall pad installed plus the Vintage Air supplied heater blockoff plate installed.

i removed the front mounting bracket then i unscrewed the wiring harness harness and brain box from the top. then i inserted the rubber hose shown in the pixs sofor a guide home into place. then i worked under the dash area for about 1/2 hour with lots of cussing then i finally beat it into place with fists of blows. what a POK in my humble opinion. me thinks they took a universal street rod unit and added electronic controls and left it up to the unlucky installer to fight it into place. now it is under the dash and it cannot ever be removed without several crowbars.
