hey guys, got a 64 vette 250hp 327 in the shop with a hard start when hot. did some research and found that theres a spacer used on 300hp afb cars for this problem, and will work on the wcfb application. Has anyone run into this problem? its almost like a hot soak issue. The cust ordered the spacer and im wating for it to come in. just wanted to see if anyone else had thoughts or ideas on it

Thanks!

we ended up using the spacer for the 300hp afb, and it worked. took care of the hot start. cust takes the car, then its back next day, running bad. only at idle, hot or cold. the car had to be on the trailer lastnight for carlisle. got a rebuild kit for the carb cause its never been apart, pull it apart, all sediment in the bowls. completely dissasemble, clean, rebuild it, car cant run any better. put 20 miles on it, problem fixed. went on 1 final testdrive before calling cust. stalling, runs like crap at idle. messed with mixture screws to no avail. this was at 3pm yesterday. pulled carb back apart, more sediment in carb! cleaned it all out again, runs mint.

long story short, new gas tank, fuel lines, pump, and the problem seemed to be that he got a bad tank of gas! sometimes you just gotta look for the obvious
