I have been calling a place in downtown (1/4 mile from the arch) St Louis for 2 or 3 weeks, always getting a busy signal. Figured they had the phone off the hook because they were so far behind, so I decided to drive to 2 hours to St Louis this morning. Was there 7:45 (internet says they open @ 8,), no one was around. I circled the building, no cars. Saw a car pull in, went back around and said who I was looking for. Guy told me they had closed up shop a year and a half ago. Since I was in the hood I went by a core supplier to pick up some 292 Chevy 6 cranks. My contact there had retired. Said they would have to look. Strike 2. I headed home! Day was not all bad, I made it home safe!
