Someday, I plan on making an aluminum inner structure for the hood so I can bolt on hinges and add a brace in the fenders, similar to stock fenders.
That’s only the third set that I’ve seen of individual fenders not a one piece front end..... your set, LA hot rods has one..... and a gentleman had a set for sale years ago on the website here...... I think he was from Pennsylvania
Yes he's from Pa., these could be the same ones. I'm not sure how long the seller had them. He did list them on this site.If you bought them off this website..... parts for sale ....... I’ll bet they’re the same ones that I checked into all those years ago it would’ve cost me twice as much to have them shipped......Did you buy them from a fella in Pennsylvania
It will cost a couple hundred dollars less to have the 396 crank cut. The old 396 cranks are not as strong as the 4140 Eagle crank. I have been told by several machinists that the old big block forged cranks are prone to cracking when they get up in age. The Eagle, as well as Scat, 4140 cranks can take quite a bit more abuse, not that I'll beat on this engine(too much).More cost effective in the long run?
