Hi all I have a question about my 1959 Chevy Biscayne. According to the site VIN decoder.. it is a V6 car, but the body style is a 1211. According to the 1959 Assembly Manual that indicates a V8 car. Also according to the 1959 Hard bound chevrolet dealer catalog the 1211 is a V8 and the 1111 is a V6. I'm confused as to why they dispute each other. The car had no engine, trans, or motor mounts when I got it so I don't know what the thing had.
Of note, in this Dealer catalog all the renderings (photos) and the Chevrolet Pictoral History (1958-1960) they show the biscayne script on the front fender above the trim piece. However, my current car, and the 4 door parts car I purchased, as well as numerous ones seen on ebay have the script on the quarter panels. Which is right? Does it matter between early and late production or possibly different plants?
