dont mind the mess in the shop but I have neglected to post some pics of the build. I was able to get the heads squared away and the valves set up to the specs that Don recommended. A squirt of chevy orange tonight has her shined up for the ARP head bolts to be torqued. The next adventure is getting the cam in place and the lifters setting in the block to measure for pushrods. Any advice for the measurements?

Also, any advice on the water pump? Rebuild or replace with an aluminum one?

Separate but related note, Anyone else get excited when the Summit Racing boxes arrive? Feels like Christmas morning for grown men..

I like electric water pumps myself.
Hey Don, do you have any suggestions for an electric one? I looked at what show cars had to offer but it was a little expensive. I wonder if a SBC one could be repurposed with a little modification, heck I already made a blower manifold..

Yes take a CSI or simular pump that has removable "ears" and fab up ones for the W engine.Look for 35 GPM minimum,45 would be max needed. They're not cheap, cheap but very reliable and will eliminate any 'heating in traffic" issues.

Gotta say, I love all the help and encouragement that comes from this forum.

I was reworking the oil pan and figured I would set it in to get a look at clearances. I think it is safe to say I will have to cut the hood..lol. what do you guys think, cowl induction or a hilborn scoop?

Don, that is interesting that you mention 2 tbis, I have a TBI unit off of a 454 and was looking to get another one and drive them with a megasquirt. I was also looking at the off the shelf tbi retros as well.

I highly doubt that even the 454 throttle bodies will feed enough fuel for a blown W engine, especially one that was stroked.

So I love the 4 port and was thinking of stacking some LS throttle bodies together with some machining to achieve a modular throttle assembly and have a plate below them for the injectors similar to the pic above. Do you think a single bank of 4 injectors would supply enough fuel? My plan is to drive the injection with a microsquirt ampd or a megasquirt. If I can get away with the injectors above I may be able to machine out a hidden injector plate that would fit in the scoop or under the air cleaner assy.
