348 Engine question!

[58impala]

I need to know if the 348 engine in my 58 Impala is internally balanced or externally balanced. I'm thinking about changing out the cast iron powerglide for a 200R and I may need a new flywheel/flexplate to go with the torgue converter. Thanks

Guess that's why I prefer external balance. Front half hangs over the belt,, back half hangs under the belt. Perfect balance.

A regular Chevy flexplate works fine but You might want to test fit it. I had one that didn't want to go all the way on. I had to clean the center hole up with a file to get it to fit.
