'61 turn signal mechanism

Can someone please offer up some help as to just how the turn signal
mechanism is assembled? The large cast piece is obviously held in place
in the housing with the shoulder screw, and the spring slips over a couple
of the bosses on the backside cast piece. The spring engages a standing
pin inside the housing to give the "snap" for right or left turn.
But I haven't figured out what the two brass colored pieces are or what
they do. I am also confused about the u-shaped wire retainer...I am
thinking it has something to do with the two before-mentioned brass parts???
Also, where does the nylon bushing go.
I have looked through my assembly manual and haven't found any
definitive pictures.
