As of last week there where only 650 registered bidders. A friend (who was also a Chevy dealer ) from near Pierce, Nebraska said he "
just got his bidder number which was number 650. We talked to him on the 22nd. He tried to buy stuff for more than 20 years from the old owner of this Chevy dealership and he would never sell anything that he knew about.
Alot of hipe in the news media about the low mile cars and pickups(there are less than 50 of these low mile cars and pickups out of 500 (and 20+ of the low mile cars and Pickups have been outside "since they where new").
Not much info has been stated about the other cars and pickups that have been outside all these years.
Most are very rough(as Leo stated), and
lots of 4 doors and pickups (over 75 % ), minimal accessories on the cars. Only a few hardtops and 2 door sedans, Only a few 396 cars, no 409s, mostly 283 cars, 6 cylinder cars and pickups, only one 4 speed car(a used 62). One 63 and one 64 Chevy convertible -both basket cases and stripped -they are on the Sunday auction).
See these two links for pictures for both days of the auction draw your own conclusions:
