Well well well, look what the cat dragged in!!, HA! So we literally just got out of the snow and have been out in "Don's gone crazy" truck and Betsy, but working hard on another Healey!! Its the same model as the red one we did and drive all the time, 59 Austin Healey BN-7.. Their the only true two seaters and a relatively low production number, 2800, with a NECK BREAKING 124bhp!!!! HA!
Sounds like its not a lot of power, but let me tell you, its 2400 lbs and feels like your flying!
Anyway, heres a couple pics to get you up to speed and will be posting about the build and asking for some help... The first thing were a little stuck on, check out the SU's. We got a rebuild kit and started yesterday and noticed the diaphragm and needles are different than the ones that came out. Their HD6's and the needles that were in it are a touch longer and the diaphrams have a very different brass opening at the bottom. The moss website kinda sucks, its not showing the pics we need to confirm we have the right stuff. Would you just go with it?
So far, engine pulled, rebuilt with new pistons, head job, etc. We were just going to clean up the engine bay a bit until we had a call with DON who immediately pointed out we need to tear it all down to be happy, hahahha, and he was right... SOOOO, we did the total tear down this week and its going to the frame shop to be pulled today. Looks like it may have been raced or for sure hit something hard on the front left once in its life....
We put POR-15 all over the frame, so this is going to be a full mechanical rebuild, with paint... Not a total restoration.
