I don't see why not. I know I had the seat out of my 63 years ago with the doors on.

I took out my 61 seat recently and it was not hard but a bit awkward. Models916 has good advice to remove the seat backs first then the cushion. As you know the backs fold and make horrible handles to remove the seat. I will remove the seat backs when putting it back in to make it easier.
