Ignition switch removal

Okay here is a new angle:
I have a 63 Bel Air, it was bought with no key.
I cannot put the switch in the ACC position or past it for tumbler removal.
I have read the previous posts about how to get it out, but I can only move it from OFF to ON to START. Pushing a paper clip or even a small hex driver in the little hole does not turn it loose.
What do I do?

If you want to save the lock and switch, take it to a locksmith to make a new key. If you dont want to save it ... Drill it out.

I have a new lock set for the entire car, I just want this particular tumbler out without further damage to the dash, switch, etc. The switch works fine.

Bob-

You can pop the top of the lock off with a screw driver. The take a drill bit and drill through the center about 1" - 1 1/4". DONT GO TOO FAR or you will waste the switch. I actually just did this today and it worked well.

Okay, that sounds a lot better. I can do that if there is no other way.

Waut a minute, if I can get the bezel offf, then I can just unplug the old tumbler from the switch can't I?
Thanks Brian.
