I believe it is one of 3 all concrete 1/4 mile tracks in the US. It is downhill from the staging lanes to starting line. Track runs East and is the maximum slope allowed by the NHRA. You can come in Friday and leave Monday if you want. THE GATES NEVER CLOSE. We will have two classes +11.50 Fast Cars and -11.50 Faster Cars. I was thinking grudge racing and time trials on the 13th (RAY)and eliminations on the 14th. There will be plenty of seat time to be had. I emailed the track today is here is their reply.

Dave,
Talked with Reid and he said it would be fine to run you guys that weekend. Full hook-ups (near the trees) is 35$ a night. Dry camping in the pits are free. Come and go as you please. Pit together allowed but you will have to be here early to save the spots. We carry 110-112-114 octane race gas. It will be $50 for two days of racing and $15 a day for spectators. Tell them at the gate you are with the 348/409 Group. Thanks for considering TSR for your event.

If you want to show your car you can park with us at no extra charge. Spectator fee $15

Here's the motel info for Dyersville which is 10 miles to the East of the track. I've stayed at the Super 8 and Colonial Inn and they were fine. The motels seem to fill up early so book now and it looks like there is FREE CANCELLATION probably within 24 hours.

Colonial Inn 563-875-7194

Super 8 800-536-9326

Comfort Inn 563-875-7700

Looks like we have 20 signed up. Anyone else out there that is a maybe or is planning on coming, let me know. My cell is 319 five six oh 9922 if you have any questions. Look on the website for a layout of the track and the full hookup camping in the oak trees. Anyone that has been there has nothing but good to say about the all concrete track and management.

Thanks
Dave

Just a FYI about some stuff.

When you come in let them know at the gate you are part of the 348-409 show.

There will be an area marked out where to park.

The tech and race gas is located at the north end of the staging lanes up by the highway. The air hose is on the west side of the concession stands.

Attached is the prize for the quickest reaction time in the first round of eliminations on Sunday.

Small block cookout around noon on Saturday immediately following a T&T for racers, forum members , and family. Watch.jpg Info coming later on the cookout.

Be advised fellow racers/drinkers. Heat & humidity and this old man are enemies. I have a large, and some have said, Stone Age generator that will be cranked up most of the time day and night. Anyone camping out at the track should know that the generator sits beside the driver side of my trailer. The best case scenario would be staggering campers and trailers of racers that will be leaving for motels in the earnings. That way us camper guys will not have the noise level of sitting on top of one another, or the exhaust fumes of the camper sitting with their generator exhaust right under your bedroom window. I know we have all been through that. How about it Dave? You wanna be the enforcer? Could save hard feelings later. If asked politely if I would shut my generator down and sweat for the three days I will be there the answer would be NO!

No problem Ray! If it gets to be too much, I'll just cut the plug wire. I won't even disturb you!

I may run a little 1000 watt for a fan but I have a long enough cord to keep the generator in front of the pick up. Noise doesn't bother me unless it's one of those 40 year old briggs and stratton with the muffler broke off.

Cut my plug wire and I'll put a slug in your fan. I'll be watching you.

I do have a small propane gen in the camper if it gets to much of a hassle but I'm limited with small propane bottles. The big gen has a Honda engine but it's not real quiet. We'll work it out so I'm far enough away to not bother anyone.
