What kind of sealer to use around gas

I have a smaller fuel leak around the sending unit to the tank, . I thought I could use some sort of silicone type sealer, if something was good with gas.. any recommendations?

do it right.....get a new o-ring and lock ring. Swap out those parts and your leak will be gone. To ease the install of the lock ring, whipe a little vasoline on the o-ring. The lock ring fits REAL tight but this will help get it locked.
