Z-11 shifter?

Did the 63 Impala Z-11 get a different shifter than the rest of the 4 speed cars?

I think the seller is correct on the second design and the Z-11 probably did have these shifters but I've seen this larger dia. lever in other '63 models also. I'd say the seller is capitalizing on the Z-11 name but i might be wrong. I've seen a 327/300 with that shifter.

That part number shows as pass with 4 speed (except SS) for 58-63. That was in the 64 -67 parts catalog, so it probably was the last version service replacement part available. I always thought the thick shifter handle was Pontiac, but probably just the last design to counter complaints of flimsyness of the thinner handle. I think I may have one in my collection of over 60 original GM shifters.

Naw...the shape isn't right for a Pontiac and the Pontiac's were skinny

Chevrolet had skinny and larger levers for the SS in '63 too.
