    Need picture of 409 starter

I don't know much about 409s. I am rebuilding LBJ's 1965 Glastron boat. The marine place that owned the boat before me removed the starter and are looking for it, but need to know what it looks like. Looking at the bellhousing it seems the bolts connect horizontally, in line with the starter...

    348 truck engine

The truck motor is like the marine 409, there is an added area of space in the top of the cylinder which increases the size of the combustion chamber and thus lowers compression and horsepower. Look in the lower right of this picture and you can see the "cut out" area that's added.

And in the case of my marine engine there is an "added" cutout area at the very top of the cylinder. I'll try to attach a picture. Thanks...

I have LBJ's 1965 Glastron boat given to him in 1965 by Glastron boats. It has freeze cracks running horizontally on the sides of the blocks about 1 inch under the heads. Might be a crack in the cylinder. Can 409 cylinders be sleeved? Can these cracks be fixed? Obviously, I want to keep the...
