    409/425 Exhaust Manifold

They came from show cars painted with high temp paint. I however had them powder coated cast grey and they still look new.

    409/425 Exhaust Manifold

I've been running a set of show cars exhaust manifolds in my car for the past 2 years with no problems. I had a set of originals at the time and compared then to the show cars version when I received them and I couldn't tell any difference between the two. When I called shows cars to order them...

Who builds The best w motor

I can't speak for the the others since I never had an engine built by them, but Lamar Walden built my engine and I am extremely happy with it. I was fortunate to work at Lamar's for a little over a year until the economy crashed several years ago. I can tell you first hand that their devotion...

    Valve covers - Show Cars

I purchased a set of the non chrome (and no drippers) 64 style valve covers from show cars. The fit and over all quality was excellent. Also, the gauge or thickness of the steel was just as good as oem. Good luck, Dan

    E3 spark plugs

I'm using the E3.46 in my 409 and I've not had any clearance issues.

    64 Impalla 409 bolt kit

I second Totally Stainless. They have control arm kits, engine kits, interior kits, almost every kit you need...and what they don't have in kits you can order separately. They even have black stainless bolts, nuts and washers if you want the original look. Semper Fi Dan

    NOS 7" balancers

I guess you could call them NOS. A gentleman approached Lamar Walden at the PRI trade show last year who either use to supply GM with the 409 high performance balancers or purchased the cores from the original supplier (I can't remember exactly). Anyway, he said that he still has some cores left...

KB forged pistons are at Show Cars

Sorry but I don't have the part number for them. I can't remember, but I want to say they were 11:1. Lastly they didn't come with pins (they did come with rings). I used full floating pistons. By the way, those connecting rods are very nice. I've seem them at Lamar Walden's. In fact back in...

KB forged pistons are at Show Cars

They do make pistons for the 6.135 rods. That's what I have in my 409.

KB forged pistons in the works

I'm not sure. Lamar told me the price and I believe it was around 650.00, but that was also including rings. Lamar won't be in today but give him a call. I'm sure they wouldn't mind emailing you some pics. Lamar can even explain some of the mods that he had KB make to the pistons.

KB forged pistons in the works

These pistons are actually available now. I have a set in my 409 and they are very nice. The quality and finish are excellent. Lamar Walden has several sets in stock, for strokers, stock rod length and big block rod length. Lamar has been working with the manufacture for about a year. They are...

    Just Foul !!!

Aubrey, Can you explain a little further the pulse you are referring to. How much of a pulse should we look for? Is it ok to hook up the vacuum gauge to the lower front port of an AFB carb (The vacuum advance line.)? Thanks, Dan

    World Block at PRI

The plate you see is attached with allen head screws. As most of you know the deck angle is different on a big block. Lamar had to attach the plate on the big block that World sent him and then cut it down to the 409 deck angle. The plate could have been avoided if World had sent him a big...

    World Block at PRI

That's the beauty about this build. You get the best of both worlds. The efficient firing of the flat pistons with the 409 design combustion chamber, better oiling passages of a big block, use big block lower end components, better big block mains, oil pan, timing cover, accessory brackets...

    aluminum timing covers

Just to let everyone know, Lamar Walden is currently machining a prototype aluminum block for World Products. The plan is to display the block at the PRI show in Florida next month. It will have 509 cubic inches and a 4" stroke. It will use all big block components, including oil pan and timing...
