I purchased a set of the non chrome (and no drippers) 64 style valve covers from show cars. The fit and over all quality was excellent. Also, the gauge or thickness of the steel was just as good as oem. Good luck, Dan

I'm using the E3.46 in my 409 and I've not had any clearance issues.

I second Totally Stainless. They have control arm kits, engine kits, interior kits, almost every kit you need...and what they don't have in kits you can order separately. They even have black stainless bolts, nuts and washers if you want the original look. Semper Fi Dan

A gentleman approached Lamar Walden at the PRI trade show last year who either use to supply GM with the 409 high performance balancers or purchased the cores from the original supplier (I can't remember exactly). They do make pistons for the 6.135 rods. That's what I have in my 409.

I'm not sure. Lamar told me the price and I believe it was around 650.00, but that was also including rings. Lamar won't be in today but give him a call. I'm sure they wouldn't mind emailing you some pics. Lamar can even explain some of the mods that he had KB make to the pistons.

Aubrey, Can you explain a little further the pulse you are referring to. How much of a pulse should we look for? Is it ok to hook up the vacuum gauge to the lower front port of an AFB carb (The vacuum advance line.)? Thanks, Dan

The plate you see is attached with allen head screws. As most of you know the deck angle is different on a big block. Lamar had to attach the plate on the big block that World sent him and then cut it down to the 409 deck angle. The plate could have been avoided if World had sent him a big...

That's the beauty about this build. You get the best of both worlds. The efficient firing of the flat pistons with the 409 design combustion chamber, better oiling passages of a big block, use big block lower end components, better big block mains, oil pan, timing cover, accessory brackets...
