Names for Cars

I had a friend that raced a 57 150 in modified eliminator that he called Dog! I now wonder if he named it after John Wayne’s dog in the movie Big Jake!

I thought it was just me. I don't see any reason to name a car. They came with names. All my buddies name theirs. I do distinguish them. The 95 The 64 The convertible The Biscayne The Monty....

Obviously my race car is named, but most days I refer to it as “ the 63” and lately “this f$cking thing”.

My 64 Conv. was named "Blood Shot" and was painted on the front fender's. My Dad convinced me, to paint over it, because it drew too much attention to the car. After having two batteries stolen and an 8 Track player, I realized he was right.

Forgot about the Pack Wrat. I just hauled it and drove it. Sometimes it drove me!!

Funny you should ask becuase it just surfaced today on facebook! A friend of Jack Gibbs owns it which I don’t have his name yet! Jack has built him an engine for it and helped get it going! They put a new cage in it which it needed! Looks the same on the outside! Hasn’t raced it yet but will in due time!

They put a new cage in it which it needed! Looks the same on the outside! Hasn’t raced it yet but will in due time!

I donated the fender flags and outside rear view mirror for that car when Ronnie was building it. I also signed the passenger door interior panel along with others.

You can always tell from a persons friends what kind of people they are. I never got the chance to meet Ronnie, but I have met Barry, And several others from this website that we’re his friends…… and I can say he must’ve been a fine person …….because he had quality friends……..!!!!
