Would you rather have a 73 Matador or a 93 Taurus? I'll take the Matador.
Jester, don't get so down on yourself. 64s may not be high on many lists but it's on the list. 59 is at the bottom of mine, but I'll take a 59 over a 79 anything.

I`d take a 65 over the 64 anyday !!!

Nothing in the world prettier than an Evening Orchid '65 SS with a white interior.
Of course, with the 409 rather than the more popular 396!

I think bmac has "the car", 1965, right color, white interior, and it now has a fresh 409, and a convert too.

Ron, Was that the `65 at the convention ?????

I had a Turquoise SS with white interior in 1970,,,,,,I`ve been looking for the color chart that tells what it (color) is officially called.

But I do love both theses colors on the 65 !!!!!! ,,,dq

Hey Jester

If you're gonna junk it, give me about a days notice and
I'll be there to pick it up........ :brow

I don't understand why so many are down on the 64, especially the Biscayne.

IMO, and here we go, I think the 64 Biscayne/Belair and the 66 Biscayne/Belair look like they were born on the dragstrip...............they remind me of the 55........big square shoeboxes........... :love :love :love

Then why am I building a 63 Belair 409, 4 speed........simple....because it was there :D ......my neighbor already has a 64.

My list of favs :hug would be

61
66
63
64
62
55
56
59

.....that's my story and I'm stickin' to it ;)

:cheers BJ

59's and 64's seem to be "love 'em of hate 'em"s Even though I have listed 64 as my least favorite, I have taken a few long hard looks at a couple of 64 2dr sedans

I'm starting to get that warm fuzzy felling.

People either like the fins and curves of the '59, or the slab-sides and boxiness of the '64. Quite the contrast in designs.

No, the one at the convention was green and had a small block. bmac is from Great Falls, just got the 409 in and running. He has pics here in the photo album. I have seen it and it is nice.....evening orchid. I have not seen it since the 09 is in.

DQ, you need to look at Rockfish's 65. It sounds like just what your talking about.

Well Guys, looks as though Im late to this party. Boy after 6 pages its tough to respond to all of this. I started my big car mission in high school, now bear in mind I graduated in 92, with the 65-70 cars. That because thats what I could afford. Overall I have had around 25 of these cars. Ranging from few hundred dollar beaters to the last,a nine second 66 SS. I always wanted a 61,62,63, just took a while to get there. You know any of these cars could be awesome, the 64 always takes a beating, but a 409 powered 64 belair or biscayne could win me over any day. A good friend of mine has a 64 belair with a 406 that I have personally gone 10.30 in, hard to hate that. Now I have 2 62s and I would not trade them for any of the others I have owned. My current driver is a 91 caprice fitted with impss wheel and lowered. No Way does it campare to my old ones, but as metioned earlier in this post, its like driving the couch, cost me 1500 and gets 22 mpg. Any way all the 55-70 full size cars are great in there own ways. My least favorite......trailered show cars,,musclecars without muscle!

problem????????

Why do I keep seeing this as a new post???????? On the 1958-65 page, it shows DQ posted today at 6:16, I think. Not positive about the time. But the day I am. Shows up as a new post, and has many times. And, it isn't. Here it shows as 12-21-04 at 11:28 AM. What's going on????????
