1970 Monte Carlo Convertible

P.S. on the above- Convertibles, including all GM A bodies, had boxed frames. This meant that the side rails of the frame were square tubing rather than rectangular channel. This boxed section went from the lower cowl mounts at the firewall rearward to the point where the frame starts to kick up for the rear suspension. El Caminos had boxed frames, my 68 Chevelle wagon does not.It would be possible to remove the OEM Monte Carlo frame and box it with side rails from a convertible, but the frame on a Monte Carlo is different because of the longer wheelbase. The front end on the Monte Carlo is about 10 or so inches longer. The engine sets in the same location relevant to the firewall, in fact, a Monte Carlo and a 2 door Chevelle drive shaft is the same length. The radiator sits way forward of the engine, that's why a 350 Monte Carlo fan shroud looks like someone cut the bottom off a black plastic trash can and used that.
