A&W, Dog n Suds, Frisch's Big boy and Steak n Shake the only one still around here is Steak n Shake and a form of A&W with like 3 chains of businesses in one.

The kids today have missed out with what we grew up with in the 60's-early 70's all the local hot rodders drove through all 4 and then there was some grudge drag racing at a place called 8 mile dead end.

8 mile dead end is now not a dead end and is called new Tampa with probably over 200K homes it was beautiful land back in the day with lakes for fishing and racing :-(

I don't know of any left in my area.
The old location is a bank now.
I was eating at the local A&W in 1976 when the parts man at the local Pontiac/AMC dealer tracked me down to tell me they had traded in a 1969 W-31 Olds Cutlass. I still have it.img_1_1642647164587.jpg

We used to travel to see my Grandparents in the late 50's and early 60's Grandpa would always take my brother and I golfing and after that to A&W next to the golf cource That was in Fairbury Nebraska, good times
