Right on Tooth, really liked this car from the first time Steve (RIP sir) posted pics of it. I like how they cut the X out of it and put square tube from A to B, looks like whoever did it knew what they were doing :good

@La Hot Rods do you remember what it ran, et/mph?

Looks like a plug (a 409 in) and play deal!!
Adam Steve's Son told me low 9's with the blown injected 331 SBC. He's getting me the contact info soon.

I talked to Ty Baumgartner today about cutting some new brackets for my strange 9" housing that was measured for my Biscayne. I can use the ladder bars on the Belair and weld new brackets that fit it to the housing and make it a Small tire or Big tire by changing them. The Biscayne had a Alston Chassis set up. The Belair sedan is a different manufacturer. The lower bars are both double adjustable though. He is getting a new laser cutter in the next couple of weeks and is going to cut them out for me. He also said there was a valve. You can order so you don't have to bleed the breaks every time. I still have my torque thrust with my 28x10.5 's... Ty's Lazer cutter will be running soon.20230613_160517.jpg20230613_160432.jpg20230613_160443.jpg20230613_160453.jpg20230613_160517.jpg20230613_160530.jpg20230613_160350.jpg20230613_160402.jpg20230613_160336.jpg20230613_160329.jpg

James and I had a good day. Matched up the motor and transmission. All fit perfect. Now to put on the headers. Might need to reroute the fuel lines. I have an aluminum radiator I got from Mark Johnson. Took 30 minutes to get it done. 20230704_133832.jpg20230704_133851.jpg20230704_134214.jpg20230704_134220.jpg20230704_135150.jpg

How much power are you looking to make? The reason I ask is the solid mounts. I personally don’t like making the side of the block a stressed member of the chassis. Especially as thin as these blocks are up at the top. I know in bbc applications with a stock block at 750 hp people start seeing main bearings wear adjacent to the solid mount.

Eventually I'll use a mid and front mount plate. Some day I'll use a aluminum block 540 in it. And g-force or liberty. Just trying to go racing this year hopefully...thanks for the advise. Russ Campbell said he had block problems with factory mounts over 800 hp. He had to put in mid mount and front mount plates.IMG950915.jpg

Went to Ty's this morning after a stop at Murphys Motor Service. Picked up a set of scales. My race car is mocked up with a block, heads, and an intake with a four hundred turbo in the tunnel. There are still Some things that need to be removed from the car that will lighten it up some. The fuel system they used was alcohol and I removed the whole system and I believe it can be flushed out. I will have to get a new filter cartridge from alkie digger. Overall with all the chassie work and roll cage. I don't think the weight is excessive.... well maybe ME!!! I can work on me though. The block has been cleaned and checked for cracks. And the 4 bolt splayed caps Are in progress. My new shifter and SFI parts will be here Tuesday. Shooting for the Iowa race in September 30-October 1st. Here's some pics from today.20230704_135150.jpg20230709_201430.jpg20230715_125106.jpg20230715_111908.jpg20230715_112331.jpg20230715_144634.jpg20230715_145134.jpg
