So I found a good 700r4 for the 63 , yeah I was looking for a 700 at the time but no luck now I got that in A 700 shows up :haha Well any ways I needed to shoren my drive shaft so I thought a 700 is 3" shorter maybe I can go to a 1 piece driveshaft . I know some of the tunnel will need some mods but it doesn't look like it would need much trimming on the tunnel floor. Any body got pics or some kow how on this plan.:pop Car is at stock height

Not the answer you're looking for, but from someone who went to a one-piece about 15 years ago: I would just get a good 2 piece with a slip joint in the rear shaft. A good driveline shop can build something for you from long bed truck stuff OR just order from Inland Empire.

On my set-up I have a long tail TH400 which is longer than your 700r4 and even with some trimming there is still not a lot of clearance or suspension travel room. Way back then it was probably the best thing for me to do in a big block / drag car application, but I wouldn't do it now.

This is what I done. used a piece of 6" schedule 40 pipe cut down.
That is one sick set up. Some serious work done there. Love the cut outs, as I am going for that. I assume you had to cut the collectors off and fab those headers around the frame? Beautiful.

fabricated everything in place, including collectors and exhaust. Then jet coated the entire system.DSC05192.JPG

Man that is some beautiful workmanship right there...:clap:clap:clap
Judging from the wiper motor it must be a 63 or 64?

700r4 is long enough that you only need to remove about 14" of the bottom of the tunnel in the rear. And then just cover it with a cone shape as pictured above. There are pics on here somewhere where I did this to mine. I used a 3.5" shaft, runs without vibration with the 4:56.
