Back in '61

I just love the simple lines of the Bel Air. Had one I was going to restore 25 years ago but a 409 car came up so something had to go. Not a bad trade off. This comes from a guy that has owned a 61 Impala bubbletop for 32 years

45 years this October that I have owned my '62 Impala.

I prefer the Belair 2 tail lights per side versus the impala 3…….The whole less is more thing.

How about a '61 Impala 2 door sedan?Another one that somehow got out there was a '61 Bel Air 4 door hardtop.

I was just thinking the other day, again, that cars were pretty cool when we were young. Of course they still are today if you are lucky enough to own one. But back when I was 15, I bought a '58 Nomad with a 348, 3-Speed for $50. Those cars were special and brought a whole lot of enjoyment, that's actually hard to explain, that I can't see how they can compare to a 15 or 16 year old kid buying a 10 or 15 year old everyday car today. Heck, there's a 99% chance it won't even have a clutch pedal. Now I know there are some exceptions out there, the Corvette being one of them, but I don't really care much for anything built after 1972.

looks like 4dr sport sedan would tend to have a lot more wind noise?
no post is cool, but that is a long way to go for rigidity.
