Just recently came upon the websight. Hope to join in some and read about some cool cars. I have a small block 61 impala. I built it to do some heads up street type racing. But I dont have the budget for a national class series. So mostly for fun. The car retains all the stock mounting points for the rear suspension, Stock wheel tubs. Ive had the 406ci motor in sever configurations already. Started out with 12:1. Got tired of buying race gas all the time. Now its 9:1. Set up for forced induction. I built a turbo system for it, But the turbo wasnt the right one and the set up never showed hope. Now I still have the 9:1 motor with a blower cam but n/a. This fall it went 12.31 @ 108mph. That was in street trim ( ehxhaust, mufflers, et street tires, air cleaner, 92 amoco gas) Just as I cruise it on the weekends. The car is far from done. Its taken me 7 years to get it this far. I work on it when time and money permit. Ill try to throw in some pics
