hahaha, SO funny but true story! Every time i had to take a leak I looked at my arrival time before i pulled into the rest stop, ran to go while I was fueling, and made sure I caught up and reduced more time. :>) Didnt waste anytime walking around, that thought to myself that the human body isnt that efficient, hahaha!

A picture says a thousand words so here's a bunch that saves time talkin!! Forgot the trans cap, can you tell? HA!

So Junkman from this site calls me in the morning about an ac compressor ad we had here. I said, "come on by but we may put you to work", and we did! HA. Hey man, you-in or your in and he was in, if you know what i mean. Had a great time, finish phase 1 and he went home with a bunch of parts! Wish i had a lift and looks like we will be sealing the driveway once were done.

Hitting the shower and crawling to bed to dream about 4099999999999... :>)

Don't believe a word of what he says! I did the hard work, like saying.. "did you unbolt the motor mounts?", and you guessed it. There was a bolt left in each of them. Plumbcrazy's son did all the work from the bottom, and I supervised the work from the top. I even removed the fan clutch and a few other minor parts. It was like 50 years ago, when I could pull an engine in the driveway alone, but this time, I had 2 helpers. When I got home, my wife said "I thought that you were going to pick up a few parts, and were coming right home!". You know how that works, when you get an old man involved with an old car. Time flies, and you get dirty. Her parting words to me were "you got grease on your shirt, what were you doing?". Being the smart husband that I am, I simply said, "good night dear, I will see you in the morning". She went up to bed, and here I am typing a reply. Just goes to show what happens when you have 40 years with the same woman!:blah:blah:blah

"Cleanup in aisle 409!!".. today's all about cleanup and prep. Trying to figure out a real safe way to get the pitch angle right to throw in the engine trans in a single shot...

The bellhousing has to be clocked to the block, and I can't leave just the bell housing on and mate the trans second cuz the hydrolic clutch cant refit back into the side of it. Has to go together... I'll post pics.

You did a great job of cleaning up the engine bay, and the driveway also. I would offer to come by and give you a hand, but I am still recovering from Tuesday. I'm too old to put in 2 days of work in the same week. Besides, I have a cleaning date with my other car. I am taking her to the Woodstock CT labor day weekend fair.

Hi LA, it's a American Powertrain TKO600. Came as a kit with that bell and when we bought it rated at 600hp we thought no sweat, we'd be covered. Didnt realize Don AND Carl took it as a challenge to beat it, ha.. We do have a second one in the pics that was for a 64 impala, but, shifter is in a different position...

Dammmmmm. I wish I had thought of that kinda shield earlier!, great callout la.. We do have one but it's the thin kit kind.. hopefully that and the double thick tunnel we used helps protect us...I'll dig up a pic

Yesterday was a wiring day for the efi system and ignition system from FAST and the instructions qere/are terrible! Not like a simple writing diagram saying connect this to your that so we called and the guys there were great.

The first call we had we tagged every end and went over it again before we let the guy drop. Then because I'm a paranoid sob I called again got another guy and went through it all of the wires again and found one that the first dude had me use wasnt supposed to be..

They had me wire it to use the ecu for electronic timing, so the system can change timing with a button. Before we start the truck, we have witness marks on the dizzy and manifold and can always block that out...

Soooo, today is now all about getting the wiring in its final place, cleaning everything up and prepping for the swap. The header kit showed up yesterday. I'll open today and take a pic...

How in the world are you going to get this to hook up?

Great q, and dont know, yet ;>).. what makes it tougher, we wont tub it, too nice.. Was thinking that because the 327 was the biggest motor available for the 66 c-10, if they had let the 409 be used they wouldn't have changed the fenders or bed, so well have to figure something out...

Any advice or ideas are wecomed!!
