Hi all. Has anyone fitted a rear wheel with 255/60/15 tire, 9" rim (3.75" backspace), stock rear end, 2.5" exhaust, 1959 (to 1964) ? Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Not exact, but we had that size tire on an 8.5" torque thrust with the same 3.75 backspace on my dad's '61 Impala, and it was very close on both the inside to the exhaust and to the outside. Went to a 235/70 and have a little more room now.

Excellent, thanks Mike. A set of Rallye wheels (9" and 7") with MT Sportsman previously on a 57 was too good of a deal to dismiss. 8" and 235/70/15 are also my preferred sizes but my budget sucks. wheel-size.com/calc/ tells me it should fit but nothing beats first hand experience.

Give it a try, they may fit, it will be close. You will need to get an adjustable panhard bar if you haven't already to help make them fit.
