I would see him at National speedway on Long Island in the early- mid 70s with the Camaro, Vega and then the Monza. in the pits I would approach him (when he didn’t look to busy) just to say Hi or try to pick his brain for any tuning tricks or tips. He didn’t seem grumpy to me just serious about what he was doing

I remember when @Tooth has his notebook in hand when are buddy Richard was getting his autograph. This was when he was building and tuning pro stock trucks.

Bill Jenkins, an old salty dog that knew his sheet, and was a great drag racer. He is still one of my racing hero's to this day.
