I think we'd have to go with a regular bracket race like Dick described. The only question would be if we would like to be able to change our dial in between rounds. Either way works for me. Oh and I guess we might be able to discuss whether or not we'd want a sportsman tree or a pro tree. A sportsman tree would probably be more in keeping with the nostalgic flavor of the Gasser Reunion. (the Gasser classes run a sportsman tree)
There are going to be a few really fast 409's there so maybe we could squeeze in a flat out heads up shootout among the six fastest cars. That might be best done on a pro tree. Maybe we could come up with a separate trophy for that.
The Gassers run in index classes. For the benefit of non racers I'll explain that this kind of racing is where you where you pick a time of either 9.50 or 10.00 or 10.50 or 11.00 etc and that's your class. The classes are in 1/2 second increments. Both cars get an even start and the first one to the finish line without going under the time set for that class wins. That makes for interesting racing because all the 10.50 cars race each other and get an even start. But that kind of racing only works when you've got a lot of cars.
Many of our cars also fit the description of a Gasser and may also want to run in one of the Gasser classes. I'm not sure whether that would be okay or not.

It would be best if we can discuss this stuff with the track ahead of time so that we'll be organized and not cause any delays in the racing. There will be lots of cars there but the staff does an excellent job of keeping things moving. Last year the lineups were very short for the Fridays test and tune so that's a good time to get some extra runs in.
We might also ask about room in the pits. It seemed like there wasn't any shortage of room last year but I really didn't pay much attention.
It would also be good to know if a guy that just wanted to come as a spectator could camp there as part of the group.
I'm pretty sure pit parking works on a first come first served basis so if we want to try and get parked in the same general area it might be best to head for an out of the way spot.
