Hi Guys,
I was going through some of my Dad's things and found some great old Pictures of the 55 from the early and mid 60's. He bought the Car in 1959, some of the first pictures are of it on the Lot. The others were in 1960 after he put the 409 in it and Hotrodded it, and the few Color ones are from the mid 60's. What a treasure... I'd never seen these photos before.20230324_232155.jpg20230324_232206.jpg20230324_232217.jpg20230324_232224.jpg20230324_232237.jpg20230324_232246.jpg20230324_232303.jpg20230324_232314.jpg20230324_232320.jpg20230324_232330.jpg

I don't know if there is a limit to the pictures here but I'll post as many as I can.

I was incorrect in my Intoduction Posts about the Carbs. I thought they were AFB's but the're Rochesters. The last photo was the only other # I could find besides on the Intake Manifold. I think this is on the Bell Housing. The Steering box looks like a Corvette Quick Steer, and it has Truck Diff.

These are both pieces of Family history, I used to ride around in the 55 until 73, it was his Daily Driver. When I was little I called it the Go-Go...because when it would be at an Idle you could almost feel every Cylinder fire and it felt like it was saying Go-Go-Go-Go....:laugh4
My Dad was part of the Buckhead Boys in Atlanta in the late 50's and 60's. He ran around with Lamar Walden, E.J Trivett, Gary Baird, John Marsh, Johnny Carter, Drennon Dobbs... They were all local Legends.

I'm going to start the Frame-off rebuild this Summer, I'm waiting on my new Workshop at my Place in Tenn. to be finished. I have to do a Sailboat delivery to Australia in Dec. so there will be about an 8 month gap until I get back to continue the Project. I was at Lamars Shop on Thursday talking to Rob about doing some Engine work while I'm gone. My Dad and Lamar put some kind of Radical Cam in it and I think it spun a Bearing. I think the thing was about 530hp at the time. I talked to Rob about De-tuning it a bit to 475-500 so it will run on 93 octaine.

I cant wait to start (and finish) the thing... I've always said that before I die I'm going to ride in it again.

A question about the 64, Does anybody know how this Over Drive works? I haven't ridden in it since about 1980 and I remember my Dad using it but not the procedure.
