Russ, I was wondering about load on the dyno compared to track load and if it could be set for more accurate input.
Then you have inertia taking play on the track.

I think I will join the 622 club, I am very curious because of some similarities to my current combination. I am also hoping you get some insight on the ring issue.I'm going along with yellow wagon on this, at 622 for my guess, as I know of a similar 480 inch 409 that dynoed at 644 with quite a bit more duration, ( not mine ) .
The dyno experience is close to track conditions. I tune on the dyno and go to the track... rarely change the tune. The dyno expense is a good investment. $500 to find maybe 20 hp????Russ, I was wondering about load on the dyno compared to track load and if it could be set for more accurate input.

That was an old used motor I got from Donnie Shaffer ...did rings bearings in the shop floorIs that what you did to Susan's Belair before "our" race??????
Back then I couldn't even spell dyno...and probably didn't have $500That's so "convenient now"!!!!!!!!!
When I was doing a lot of work on Harleys, I would always tell my neighbors that for "any" reason, if I am bothering you, come by and I will take care of it. No hard feelings. I almost never had a problem, however I got along with my neighbors and I always approached them first when I moved into a neighborhood or a new person moved into ours.I have neighbors that let me get away with doing burnouts with open headers here. Don't do it a lot but enough!
Lost the oil filler cap somewhere on the road there!
I think that high horse/high rev generator sucked it off......
That generator scares you don't it Dave.
