Has anyone tried a 1 inch open spacer on a 881 intake. I have a couple of these laying around and was thinking of trying them but the open part sitting on the divided intake might cause more obstruction to the air flow than the more plemum area would help. This is going on a street rod engine not an original type car.The carbs are 1406 edelbrock's

Engine Masters did a great dyno test of spacer/intake combos that gives you a few clues as to what might work best on whatever intake you are using. Back in my Chrysler days we had some dyno info on using 4-hole reverse taper on single plane intakes that indicated that they were useful, even beyond their use as insulators.

Any chance you can give the air/fuel to hang together longer is going to help some. I have 1 inch spacers on the 348 dual quad set up and like mentioned above. No hood is going to fit on my wagon without a hole cut in it.
