drove avatar car yesterday (1st time in over 7 yrs.) Everything seems to be ok...putting front end back together now. Probably won't make Norwalk, just 2 much expense involved...will shoot for Cedar Falls in August though, if i don't break it..LOL

anyone know about the new ONE piece blue pan gaskets for a 409...heard they are available...been out for small blocks for awhile...

thought i would share some pics of my "patina" 61 that i plan on taking to Cedar Falls next month. It has been a looong labor of love (using that term loosely) probably my age talking; i said this would be my last build ....oh well. Hello to all and looking forward to seeing everyone in Iowa....its been awhile.

I sold 4 - 61 hoods to a friend in Council Bluffs last year - it might still have them?
At least 2 of them were very good as I recall.

It has been a looong labor of love (using that term loosely) probably my age talking; i said this would be my last build ....oh well. Which reminds me, anyone have a decent 61 hood that is coming to Cedar Falls? Thinks i'm going to have to cut one due to carb clearance...still in thinking stage. Dean, maybe you can raise the back of the hood like they did back in the day and get enough clearance. I don’t know if that can be done and still utilize the hinges or not!

the 1 piece (348/409) pan gasket my friend ordered, ended up being small block...LOL Fit my hood today-afraid it wouldn't clear air cleaners, but did by 1/2 inch. Was pretty nasty, as someone took a DA to it years ago leaving much surface rust, but did clean up fairly well and i will patina it in the near?? future
