Went to Ty's this morning after a stop at Murphys Motor Service. Picked up a set of scales. My race car is mocked up with a block, heads, and an intake with a four hundred turbo in the tunnel. There are still Some things that need to be removed from the car that will lighten it up some. The fuel system they used was alcohol and I removed the whole system and I believe it can be flushed out. I will have to get a new filter cartridge from alkie digger. Overall with all the chassie work and roll cage. I don't think the weight is excessive.... well maybe ME!!! I can work on me though. The block has been cleaned and checked for cracks. And the 4 bolt splayed caps Are in progress. My new shifter and SFI parts will be here Tuesday. Shooting for the Iowa race in September 30-October 1st. Here's some pics from today.View attachment 127598View attachment 127599View attachment 127600View attachment 127601View attachment 127602View attachment 127603View attachment 127604

Found an ignition box up under the dash. And the seats have pins you can pull then slide forward and lift out. Pretty slick! Cleaning and checking fuel system, new pump and regulator will be here Tuesday. Weight is with mock up block heads intake th400 Trans case. Probably 3500/3600 without me. I will rescale when running.20230723_103413.jpg20230715_112347.jpg20230723_102907.jpg20230723_190450.jpg20230723_190314.jpg20230723_185542.jpg20230723_185524.jpg20230723_185518.jpg

Looks like it only needs the distributor hooked up and hot wire to the starter to run. All the starter solenoids are under the dash. The stainless hose goes to a boost gauge. Headers fit good now.20230724_192100.jpg20230724_191955.jpg20230724_191946.jpg20230724_195330.jpg20230724_195339.jpg20230724_195344.jpg20230724_195326.jpg20230724_194957.jpg20230724_195104.jpg20230724_195043.jpg

Jeff at Murphys Motor Service is coming along well with the motor, I'll have an update soon. Without friends like Jeff, James, Bob Walla, Denny Ford, Brian LaBombard, and Ty this wouldn't be happening so fast. Trying to make 348 409 shootout in Earlville at the end of September. I offer a sincere thank you!!!Screenshot_20230806_215223_Facebook.jpg

I finally was able to talk with the guy that Steve bought the car from, thanks Greg for the information. Time to start a new chapter. Old school style :brow  Here’s some pics he sent. This build is about to seriously shift to overdrive. I can’t seem to keep up with the time. Thank goodness for pen and paper notes!!!:doh Things are going better than I thought, still have lots to do. Jeff at Murphys is putting in an incredible amount of effort…Thanks Murphdog!!! Too soon to know now for sure, but everything looks good so far, no set-backs yet.:pray More information is coming soon.IMG_1343.jpegIMG_1342.jpegIMG_1345.jpegIMG_1351.jpegIMG_1347.jpegIMG_1348.jpegIMG_1337.jpegIMG_1330.jpegIMG_1322.jpegIMG_1332.jpeg

Greg said that WHITE LIGHTNING runs as straight as an Arrow, and has been very close to 150 mph. He has a full drawn out, wiring diagram he’s going to give me. He also has a bunch of other parts that came from the car. Some trim pieces, small parts and if I want the 400 turbo and the converter. He didn’t say how much he wanted for them but I’ve already got a new transmission and a new converter. He was sure to tell me that the horn button is the trans brake. he left the line at 5200 and had a limiter chip of 9000 RPM. And if you look at the pulleys, you can tell that it is really under driven, and only made about 8 pounds of boost. He said the car weighed 3400 with him in it. :clap Oh-Look I have some new four bolt main caps!!! Murphys Motor Service is the best:good Jeff said he’s not quite done yet, he’s going to make them sexy then they will be done.IMG_1329.jpegIMG_1349.jpegIMG_1350.jpegIMG_1352.jpegIMG_1340.jpegIMG_1339.jpegIMG_1338.jpeg

The mini denso alternator showed up, anly chrome was available over 40 amps:doh the brackets work great. Denny Ford, you are the man. We are going to make some more in a while. The carb spacers are in, waiting on 3/8 stainless tubing and tee's. Then, figure out the linkage. The 4-bolt main caps are done, and the block is cut. Jeff, Ty, and I are plugging away. No big snags as of yet that I know about. Here's some small tire eye candy Ty is building
