    Erson cam

I have a cam with the casting numbers 3744430, but on the end of the cam it say's ERSON 315F. Did they regrind this? The only info I have come up with is that it has 296 duration and 538 lift. Can anyone help with more detailed specs, like lash and lobe separation.

    Found a "W" in a junkyard

The guy at the desk said it was a 409. The number is 3857655 which seems to be a 348 truck and replacement. There is notches in the block and no numbers stamped in the front. But I can't find anything on the heads #3758021 and 3788555 the date codes are both in '61. They look like the smaller...

    Erson Cam in my 409

I called Erson and they helped decode my cam for me (had to find his "old" catalogs- lol). Not much of a description just specs and it comes out to be, 296 dur. and 538 lift. How does this compare to the stock "special" cam in the 425hp?

    409 Impala Question

I'm not sure about the Canada thing, but I just found out that my 409 block is a 1964 340hp backed by a powerglide due to the suffix code of QG.

    Hello, new fish here

So the next step would be to check the cam. Would the 340hp cam and hydraulic lifters work on the 425hp heads?

    409 in a 55 chevy wagon?

I know where there's a will there's a way but will the 409 take the later big blocks flywheel and bellhousing, and are the motor mounts the same? Right now I have a bone stock 55 wagon (even the original 265 with no oil filter) with a 3 speed. I have a 4 speed saginaw laying around and was...

409 Id question This is one heck of a site for a guy interested in the old "W" motor! Anyways I have always fooled around with small blocks and don't have a clue about the grandfather big block. I recently came across a guy saying that he has a "special" 348 bored out to 409 that came out of a...
