    First Drive Today!

Unbelievable!!! We finally took my 65 Impala out with the 409!! Sounds awesome!!! (Only the 2nd one I've ever heard, Rons 64ss409 was the 1st) :brow I just took it for a short spin as I have a headbolt with a small coolant leak but other than that it looks awesome... I'll snap some pics...

    Radiator Source

65 Radiator usage Thanks Ed for the reply. Bob, It is strange. My car had a 283 and that larger spacer. I thought the big blocks had that slimmer spacer in them. Rock, who has been great in my process, has a 65 and I'm pretty sure is correct. I posted a pic of my 283 with the 5" spacer...

    Radiator Source

Well, I'm getting closer. I'll try and post a pic later tonight or tomorrow. I have all in but the fan and radiator. That's the problem... My car had the 5" spacer in front of the radiator that narrowed for the radiator. Now that I have the slimmer spacer, my radiator does not fit. I found...

    Power Steering Bracket?

oh well Well, I did elongate the bolt hole and got the bracket to fit. Onto the next issue. The power steering pump on my car is the newer type and I don't think it will work with this bracket, it hits the bolt securing the middle bracket bolted to the head and does not let it come back...

    Power Steering Bracket?

Hello all, Well, I'm getting closer to having my 409 in my car. I did not have the right power steering bracket so I purchased one. I went to bolt it on last night and the holes do not align. :dunno If I have the top bolt for the bracket in, the bottom does not align, the block hole only...

    Direction on carb/air cleaner

Hi all, I am getting my 340 hp built but have a couple questions concerning the carb and air cleaner. I have a holly 1850 that I want to bolt onto my stock intake. I know I need an adapter plate but which one? There are adapter plates on ebay or I can get one locally but I want to get the...

    The excitement begins!!

Yeah, I undestand Hi Dan, I just figured I'd hold those for a better or maybe more apprpriate ride than my cruiser... :) I suppose though that if I don't find the right project for that engine I could always get them ready and put them on at a later date. :dunno Glad to hear from...

    The excitement begins!!

Hi all, Here are a couple pics of my 656 block with Aubrey's piston design! It's a shame they end up covered up. It's been a long haul in getting this far but it's totally awesome to finally be assembling. The pistons went in without problems. Hoping to get my heads back this week.

    65 Rochester

Thanks Rock! Thanks a ton Lou, I really appreciate the explanation!. I'll shelve this one and keep my eye open for a cadallac one. I have some other carb options so I'l just hold onto this one for some other application. again thanks, bmac :bow
