    348 exhaust

If I put headers on won't I have to install a mini-started as well? was trying to avoid that. I don't need cut-outs its just the 4 year old in me. Use to clip playing cards on my bike so they would hit the spokes and make noise-same thing for me I think.

    Head Gasket Leaks

I've got a freshly built 348 that I used Edlebrock 409 heads head on. I used the recommended Edlebrock Head Gaskets which come direct from Edlebrock. On both heads near the 7-5 pistons and 6-8 I've developed small annoying leaks. I took great pains to seal all the bolts and torque the heads to...

    Truck 409 acquisition

I would assume that if it has compression it has a reasonable chance of rebuild. Chains, bearings I would consider part of a rebuild anyway. I'd always assumed i'd have a hard time finding even a truck block for 2500 was assuming it would take 3500-4000 to get a rebuilder. Guess I wrong?

    Truck 409 acquisition

What value does a truck motor such as the one above have assuming its pretty complete needing an over haul? Assuming it turns can you run one around using a compression tester to gage condition-say by taking out the other plugs? Thanks

yes it is. The first 348 I dropped in a ran froze after a few min run time. Engine shop rebuilt the btm end and I paid for the parts so it ended ok and wasn't a big bill-except the I dropped it in the 2nd time after I primed it-I clocked the Dist and dropped it in. It was only after messing...
