LONG time since my last post, but wanted to share my 'new' 63 Impala..barn find

Thanks guy's. I'm glad the vids worked, i had NO idea what i was doing! haha For the time being i'll be putting this in my 62 until i either get it's 409 built, or get the 63 restored ( probably do the 63 first, then the motor for the 62). I just can't see it sitting on a stand any longer...

LONG time since my last post, but wanted to share my 'new' 63 Impala..barn find

Well, after about a 20 year sleep, the 409 fired to life last night. I rebuilt the carb (along with doing a bunch of other stuff to it before attempting to start it), but have a couple small issues with it, and have some adjustments to make before i can pull it off the start stand and put it...

LONG time since my last post, but wanted to share my 'new' 63 Impala..barn find

Well, i'll keep the progress updates coming as soon as i actually dig into it. For now, i'll throw a couple pics of the motor. It's just about ready to start up after it's 20 plus year hibernation. New gaskets, oil pump etc etc. I know the valve covers are not supposed to be painted and...

There's just something about seeing these old Impala's before thier restorations that i love. Call me strange, you wouldn't be the first, but i love seeing em. GREAT car's by the way!!! Tony

Brett great looking 64! It's ironic you mentioned the Canadian GM and thier paperwork. A few friends and i were just talking about that vs here in the states. I've been doing research on my car for production numbers but realize the paper trail on actual detailed numbers is not there...

LONG time since my last post, but wanted to share my 'new' 63 Impala..barn find

I'm REALLY looking forward to getting at it!! haha Like i wrote up in my first post, i'll hopefully have my 62 all buttoned up by spring and then i'll start the documentation and teardown of the 63. The 62 is a frame off nut and bolt deal, but i wasn't so worried about it being "correct" like i...

LONG time since my last post, but wanted to share my 'new' 63 Impala..barn find

For the first time in a long time he's got a real interest in a car. it's a great feeling to see him smile especially with losing my mom last year. As far as Billy and i, for some strange reason, you're right..I bought this on a sat, and the next day we went and picked up a 64 2 door hard top...

LONG time since my last post, but wanted to share my 'new' 63 Impala..barn find

Thanks fella's, i really appreciate that. I've had a number of X frame chevy's, including a near perfect unrestored black 63 (hence my screen name :)) but this one is my holy grail. I've had it for a little over two weeks and am already just about ready to fire the motor up. It look's to have...

Hi all, It's been a while since i've posted, we'll call it life getting in the way :D Anyway, i'd like to share a short story with you all. For a little over 15 years i've been searching for a Palomar red/black int 63 NON SS Impala.. My dad ordered one new in 63 with those colors, powered by...

    rebuilding cost's of an '09

Guy's thank's a lot for your input. Gary, i really appreciate all the specific information you gave me. There is a lot of very good info/advice there and i will take all of it into account when i build mine. I guess, aside from the boring being more, my biggest issue with the price of this...

    rebuilding cost's of an '09

Hi fella's.. I have a 409 truck motor that i'm going to rebuild and just have a couple question's regarding the typical cost's of these. I've built many motor's myself this one being next on mylist, and have a couple close friends who either own, or work at engine machine shop's.. My question...
