Powerglide advice and small parts needed

I have a powerglide problem. Last time I started the car it started to spray or throw transmission fluid out from around the torque converter to front pump area. I now have the tranny out and can not see any damage to the front seal. So now I am wondering if it is leaking from around the pump...

    Edelbrock is here

Interesting Now I don't know Ignitionman personally, so I am wondering if he being somewhat facetious or if he is really as big an *** as he comes across on this board. With each post of his I read, I am becoming more and more convinced of the later. Marc

Don "Big Daddy" Garlits is comming to KC!!

Good plan Sounds like you have a good idea of what you want to accomplish and have a good direction planned. We raced two super comp cars in the 90's with automatics and transbrakes and I think that is a great plan although I realize sticks have some plusses as well. A transbrake is an...

Don "Big Daddy" Garlits is comming to KC!!

That is the best part of an event like that, the people you visit with. Whenever we take the twin engine car to shows, I love to hear about people's stories and memories of the 60's.....its a blast!! All I have to do is stand there and listen to the great stories.

Don "Big Daddy" Garlits is comming to KC!!

My 2 cents First off, it was great to see the 62 sitting back in the staging lanes once again. It looked right at home. Sorry to hear the car didn't run as well as you may have hoped right out of the box, but tuning is half the fun and I'm sure you will get it in the 13's in no time. I feel...

Force and Bernstein collide @ 300+MPH

John force interview Great interview with John Force. He is doing remarkably well. He thanked the lord and is lucky to by alive. http://cbs11tv.com/video/?id=21549@ktvt.dayport.com&cid=7 I know it may be hard to beleive, but John was pretty talkative as usual. Well worth watching.

Force and Bernstein collide @ 300+MPH

accident It will be interesting to hear more about the cause of this accident. It appears the car split in two before contacting any other object. John said in an interview today that the chute pulled the car in two. The chassis must have been weakened by some other incident. The tire was flat...

    Factory 1962 409 - 3 speed cars?

3 speed 409 I took a truck 409 and threw it in the 283 wagon and by the time I sold it 5 years later I shelled the 3 speed, the pinion gear, and an axle. Amazing what an increase in torque can do....and that's just 252 HP. I'd bet the 3 speed would live a short life behind a 380HP. Marc

    Hi , I'm a newbie, NASTY 409

My two cents on the start-up deal. Whenever we are starting a new engine, or our race car, we always remove the spark plugs, crank up the oil pressure, install the plugs, check the acc pump to make sure there is in fact fuel in the carb, and start. No problems with tons of trips down the quarter...

    Value of a 409 crank?

I just sold a couple on ebay I just sold a couple for $308 on ebay. One needed a .010/.010 grind while the other needed just a polish to be used but .010/.010 would have been the likely outcome on that as well. They went higher than I thought they would......but then again I didn't think...

Long shot on cam and piston ID

I have a set of pistons in an engine I am trying to sell that I would like help identifying if possible. They are arias pistons with a number on the bottom of H-60-A. On the camshaft, I know this is a huge longshot, but what the heck. I am not aware of the maker, but it has RRC L85 or L86 and...

    Camshaft change

The rod makes perfect sense. That would lean it out and cause the overheating problem. Now the other question for the experts out there....what caused the cam to go bad?
