Grinding from starter was caused by a lip on dust shield acting as a big shim.
I ran a Powermaster XS Torque for a week because the teeth on the Delco were trashed…….it did not sound good.
Picked up new Delco today, while switching I noticed both starters has same # of teeth, but gap on Delco seemed wider at the base.
It starts perfectly now.
I even put lug nuts on all the studs today…..CRAZY!
Brakes have 14# vacuum at idle and 20# above 1000rpm……brakes will pump up so I believe I still have air in the lines so I bought a vacuum pump to bleed them….hope that works.
Guy 2 towns over had a nice original hood…excited about that.
