Every so many years I change my mined. before I could drive, I had to have a red 57 ( hate red now) Age 17 had to have a Roman Red 64 SS 300 hp 327 4 spd, just down the road. Price came down, dad got laid off. I was hooked. Looked at ever 62 63 64 I could locate. Over the years my favorite went 64, then 63 then 62. Wouldn't have a 59 or 60. Got a 65 rag top. :? Then I needed a 58. Hated all the sedans. I got a 59 El Camino next. Then a 61 2dr Biscayne. 2 60 BelAirs. just a few years back a 65 Biscayne and a 67 Galaxie 390.
Of these, 3 are sedans, a 59 , 2 60s, 3 red cars and a Ford. All of which I didn't like at sometime :?
Now I have to say I like all the sedans, except 58 and 59. favorite??? Tie 61 and 65. I have to vote 65 since I have 2. Worst..... 60 hard top in RED
I swear I've followed this thread up to 85 posts with no votes for (against?) the 63. Now I see 86 with Belair voting and a 1 vote in the 63 column!! Don't think it was him
I suspect one or two may have misread the pole, "least" favorite. And may possibly have voted for a favorite.
I was just trying to figure out why 57, 61, 62,63 could be "least" favorite. I like all from 55 through 66, and the last years too, but not as much.

This is tough... none of these are a run-away bad or better...
in order from my favourite to least favourite:
55
62
61
63
60
56
57
64
59
58
67
65
69
68
70
66
Why 66 ?
To me, it lost the triple tail lights... an Impala trade mark. It's not a 67, which I feel has a "racey" look. Kind of an "in-between".
I guess I'd REALLY get beat up if I let it be known that for me, the 60,61,62 F***'s & 63,64,65 M****'s rank in there amongst the 64-67 Chevys
The tail lights are one of the things I like most about the '66. The back end has a real "sleek" look to it. (just my opinion) It has triple tail lights, just not round. With this year, you get triple brake lights too, no back up light in the middle which makes it even cooler.
For me, this year will always be something special. I think alot of it has to do with how many I used to see when I was a kid. That's when I fell in love with them. 65's and 66's were literally everywhere at that time!
Quote 'I think the owners of 1960 and 61 cars are voting more then once and stacking the deck in their favor. It's a plot to make the 64 owners look bad. "
Ray,,,,, You forgot to scroll down to the bottom of my post,,,
BUT,,,,, After seeing your car at the convention the 60 Impala went WAY up in my book !!!
I`d give your car a 10 !!!! And a trip to anywhere USA,,,,please advance $1000 to cover costs,,,,dq
I'm surprised at the 64s also! I like em all but here's the rough break down. Of course this is kind of generalizing as I've seen examples of the lowest on my list that I'd take over the highest on my list depending on how the car was modified or restored.
Funny thing I just traded my "Least Liked" 70 State Police car for a 66 BB Muncie combo for my favorite 1960 Chevy. Hehehe Oh did I mention she did 500+ on the dyno Just goes to show ya some one loves those boats.
