I do the same, for relatively little time I figure it has to help the water flow, not sure how much it helps the oil flow but it mus t do something.I like the way you are deburring the block!!!!! I always did that too!!!

Ill did that on my first 3 blocks, never thought it was so easy to mount the pistons without doing that even with a 030 bore and a 030 edge left. Ill probably not doing counterbores again.Smart move,Jan.Putting that counter bore back in will cost you 1/2 a point of compression.
