You must want to become a drain on the economic system, or what is more commonly known as a welfare recipient. You are only a heart beat away from becoming a liberal. I'll bet that you have a picture of Hillary and Elizabeth on your living room wall.... :hug
They sit right next to your picture. Got the whole family together finally :taunt

you guys that say you don't like chicks with tats haven't spent enough time with one that sports fine ink...View attachment 67381

Oh the horror of having to look at that :brow Although as usual, I took the long way around of saying it, my only point, be it politics etc, is just don't look at it. I get caught up in some threads too that contain politics. However I almost completely don't watch any news, listen to radio programs etc., to avoid politics. That is not why I come to this board, however I don't need Bob to protect me from politics, overly tattooed women or anything else, it's not his job. That begins to sound like it's snowing on this board and next I will need a safe room with meditation music and cookies.

Most, obviously not all, members here are somewhere right of center on the political spectrum. I have seen the forum lose a number of valuable members because they were left of center. A while back I was one of the people who suggested Bob set up a separate forum for political posts thinking members could just avoid being insulted by just avoiding those posts. A swing and a miss on my part. That has proven to be similar to banning guns to stop the gun violence, it just is not going to work.
What we need to do is post on this forum as if you are speaking to someone standing in front of you. If they post something you disagree with you can certainly speak your disagreement but insulting the person who made the statement is out of line and only creates grudges, hard feeling and eventually the loss of one of the participants. Unfortunately the anonymity of the internet, this forum included, has spawned a world where people feel they can be rude and hateful, knowing the only recourse of the offended person is to respond in same.
Respond to those who disagree with you as you would to your mother.

To be honest, I’m absolutely right of center (but I ain’t no gosh darned republican) and it was nice to see similar opinion on this site when that ——- ———- ———- hillary clinton was running for pres. Guess the bottom line is, that political s—t has no place on a chevrolet engine forum. The right leaners are the ones posting all the bs, making other guys feel left out. I get it. If the political stuff has to go to keep this forum cohesive than may it be gone. Was fun while it lasted tho!:laugh3

I'm not quite sure of what prompted this latest round of threads in this section. Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't recall reading any threads where one member was disrespectful or offensive to another, by name calling or other verbiage. That's certainly not something tolerable or warranted. Yes, this forum is based on automotive, engine and cars, but it doesn't mean that it is limited to just that. I counted 26 different categories in this forum. If you choose to participate in any/all or none, that's your decision to make. Bob just made it easy for those to opt out of the political sections, by using the ignore button. I wish I had more information, skill, experience to share with everyone re. car issues, but I don't. If I did, I probably wouldn't post so much in the political section, which admittedly, I should avoid more. I'm not a dyed in the wool, hardcore right winger, but I do lean that way at times, perhaps because of the issue at hand. I respectfully beg to differ with Kevin from Colorado, benchseat4speed, on your description of all the postings being BS and posted by the right. When two freshman Congresswomen, Cortez and Tlaib, both democrats, threaten and use such foul language towards the POTUS, that is not BS, sir. That is something worth discussing, regardless of the posters political affiliation. This of course, is just one example. I know Trump contributes to this and instigates negative dialogue at times, which I'm not happy about, but these two brain dead, pathetic, poor excuse for human beings, raise the bar to a new level of being disrespectful. Not meaning to offend anyone by saying that. I've been around for a while. Not my first rodeo. I don't ever recall so much disrespect, if any, for the position of POTUS. You may like or not like, who the President is and that's ok. But the position itself commands respect regardless who occupies it. I know. I'll say it again, Trump can bring alot of this on himself with that Twitter nonsense. Apparently he feels this is the only non fake way of getting his message across which can certainly be crude at times.
Well, going to shift gears and make some happy. I was out in the garage yesterday trying to get that crap hole in some type of order. I have a serious abundance of old tee shirts, towels, and rags that I use on occasion, that need to be organized better. Went through them and found little tiny mouse turds all over the place. Disgusting. Had to throw many away. I'm a semi-germaphobic (SP). I could envision germs, bacteria and disease all over the place. Pathetic, isn't it?? Going to Walmart shortly and get some clear plastic containers to store the remainder in. Geez, I hate those mice in my garage. I have mothballs and dryer sheets on the floor already. Need more traps I guess. BTW, great posting of thread #48 by Dick MacKenzie. So, until we talk again, stay safe, happy and healthy. Peace to all always, Carmine.

Well said Carmine, the whole post not just this bit. I couldn’t agree more. The election of those two nitwits disgusts me. The libs here in CO just elected a homo/environazi/socialist Californian for a Governor. The direction this country seems to be going at the hands of these democrats.....

You see what I mean though? This is the direction these political rants always go here on the board. I think you and I are on the level, but what if a member here is a lefty, they read what I just posted and they’re offended (there’s that word again) by it...now we’ve got tension between members over some dumb s—t that probably shouldn’t have been said in the first place. Likewise, if Bob was a raging socialist and posted that kind of stuff all the time, I probably wouldn’t be here....

I see both sides of this thing. I can see why some left leaning members have either complained to Bob or left altogether.

Missed that one^^ thanks. Gives me a little more context. Ron is good people. Talked to him in kansas about his 64. That car is absolutely gorgeous. Like some of the ladies in the chicks thread. Ron checked ALL the right boxes when he ordered that car new....

He’s been strangely absent from here for a long time. Maybe that sheds some light...:dunno

Never saw that thread that James makes mention of. Not sure why. Thank you for your response Kevin. I do appreciate it. Speaking for myself only, in sum and substance, these two Congresswomen represent us, whether we like it or not. They are part of the establishment. Having said that, and I don't like it, I find their behavior repulsive, disgusting, threatening, vulgar and I'm running out of adjectives. They are so totally disrespectful to the position of the POTUS. We should all be offended by it as citizens of the US regardless of our political affiliation. Seriously, is this anyway to address our leader, whether we like him or not. He was elected to this position. I'll keep saying it, Trump plays right into it. He's certainly an integral part. If he would just shut up sometime and not insult and argue with so many, I think things would go better for all of us. He also calls names, can be foul mouthed, no doubt about it, and is wrong for doing that. Especially, moreso for him. He is our leader. Suppose to set good examples. Has to be a better way to address people and issues. OK good people. Back to the garage. Bought 6 nice Tupperware tubs for my towels and cloth items. Serving the mice with an eviction notice effective this moment, Carmine.
