I was just creepin’ on this thread the other day wondering if you had made any shakedown runs yet. Good work!! That thing looks straight out of the 60’s. Did you ever detail the engine build on here somewhere? It’s a 380, correct? What heads?
It is a 380 inch with 333 truck heads. Small hydraulic flat tappet cam, 671 supercharger with dual 600 edelbrocks. Nothing fancy in the motor. Ross pistons and aftermarket rods. Runs real good. Don Jacks spec’d the motor and it dynoed 550 horse 530 torque. Just a good solid combination.
No s—t!? Small port, that’s awesome!! Would love to see some pics of that blower manifold if you have some. Man, if it went a buck 25 on the first time out, 94 degrees in bad air, with the ignition cutting out, you know there’s a lot left in it
Dyno time must be nice too, I gotta try that someday.
With good air,the trans brake hooked up,and a 4.30 gear in place of the current 3.50 gear that's in there now.,I can see about a .8 or maybe a little more improvement here. The 125 mph was after the coil was replaced.
The really important part, especially for a rookie driver,is that the car doesn't exhibit any "stupid"habbits. No wheelstands,no moving around.no "death wiggles",just flat, arrow straight, smooth passes.Brian did a good job with the chassis.Kind of like what BT's altered did at Bowling Green, just slower.
