I see this is making the news again. It appears that the democratically controlled HOR, is looking at this issue. No surprises there. A recent poll, for what they are worth, shows 8 of 10 white Americans, are against any payment. What really surprised me was that 6 of 10 African Americans are in favor of it. I thought it would be 10 of 10. I'm just a cynical SOB. Maybe the other 4 didn't realize reparations equal free money?? I really need an attitude adjustment

You don't need an attitude adjustment Carmine. Why would you? It's perfectly natural to be upset that someone wants you to take responsibility morally, and pay financially for something you didn't do, to someone that did not have anything done to them. And the real issue here is that even if we are forced to pay for something we did not do to someone that had nothing done to them, "NOTHING" would change. If I understand it correctly, if we pay, then someone how it all goes away? All Americans that happen to be what our society calls black ( you are NOT African American if you didn't immigrate from there and become a citizen here ) will all of the sudden no longer care about slavery? Not a chance in hell. Nothing will change except free money to some at the expense of others, so what is the point?

Just looked at that link. That Booker sickens me almost as much as the idea itself. And Glover, he supports reparations, let him share some of his millions with his brethren. Another Hollywood type that should mind his own business and stay in CA. Looks like the white society has been pretty good to him. Here again, what we have is a select group looking for another, or continued, handout. How much is enough for some?? What you see is an insatiable appetite to take anything free from the government. As far as I'm concerned, they got their reparations when the Civil War ended and the body count was tallied. Thousands and thousands of white Union soldiers were killed, maimed, wounded so that blacks could be free. Let us not forget that. So there is your reparations. Be thankful for ultimate sacrifices made by some. Move on for crying out loud. Why this is even brought up, amazes me. But, it's the Demo-craps idea. No surprises there. Makes my voting much easier. Whoever supports this baloney, I would vote for their challenger regardless of party affiliation. It could be Quasimodo; I don't care. And, before I forget, in that link, it's mentioned that blacks only have 1/10th of the wealth of whites. Why is that?? Maybe they don't work or refuse to work because of the government freebies. Having 7 kids by 7 different baby daddies doesn't help increase wealth either. Something about more blacks being incarcerated then whites. Is that because they commit more crimes then other races?? Take a look at Chicago. Sounds like a no brainer to me. I think that whole article was slanted. Wanting to justify giving away our money, instead of taking responsibility for their own fate. Carmine, there will NEVER be enough! No matter how much is given. This BS will continue until there is no longer any money to pay for it all; whether it be reparations or redistribution of wealth through every imaginable program to give away free shit. This includes; free housing, free college to all, free phones, free lunches, free medical, free food (through food stamps/EBT, etc.), free automobiles, free drivers' licenses, WIX, money to families whose spouse is in prison, free shit to unwed mothers, free baby sitting for unwed mothers, free training courses, free law instructions, child credits, work equivalent programs and a thousand other programs slipped into "add-ons"/"riders" in both state and national legislation. It is all about the MONEY (personal wealth) and POWER (voting and political position) and nothing to do with merit or what is deserved. This is pure socialism to weaken the populace into political debt (vote for me and I will give you more free shit).
Social Security was originally put into place to keep people from starving. All combined, it has now become an attractive retirement program. One example I remember is an unwed mother with nine (9) kids, taking advantage of all the programs available, "hiring" all the kids to act as baby sitters for each other, "hiring" immediate family members (consultants) to "work" to make sure she got all the benefits, etc. Bottom line she was making in excess of $169,000 and paying NO taxes, which makes it all the more valuable. To a greater or lesser extent, this is the rule and not the exception! There is no thought as to where this money comes from or how it was generated. This pisses me off. Don't come to me any more charity--I am/have been paying through the nose already. I have no more sympathy.
As PM Margaret Thatcher once stated: "Under Socialism, sooner or later you run out of other people's money." We are running out of our money. We will be paying the piper for our fiscal mismanagement. I have advanced degrees in Business, fiscal management and engineering; I know what fiduciary responsibility for the public's money means. This is a gross violation of that responsibility. When the Gubberment is handing out the welfare checks and food stamps to these unmarried women they should have to go through a background check just like buying a firearm, and if you're one of these women that has 6 kids with 6 different men you just blew it because its clear you're running a welfare scam and you just plain don't give a Damn and this translates to no money fo you. And to those that do qualify you buy the basics this means no ice cream, soda pop, potato chips, and another thing these stores that let them buy unqualified items get their balls busted.

Alot of truth in that Mike. Not a bad idea at all. I'm so sick and tired of the same group of people, always with their hand out for a freebie. It may not be right, but it builds resentment in me. My father told me years ago, there was a cure for poverty; it was called work. What a novel idea. Some should apply it, but they never will. It's much easier to get the free stuff. The Demo-craps are like a bunch of whores. They give away, prostitute themselves, for a vote. I hope they all get incurable gonorrhea and their pee-pee falls off.
